Korean website leaks Mega Slowbro and Audino

Let's take a minute to thank the Official Korean website for leaking that Mega Slowbro and Audino are coming to Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Slowbro’s been a fan favourite since gen 1 and has seen a lot of use online since X and Y so it’s great to see it get a Mega Evolution. It is a little surprising seeing Audino get a Mega Evolution since it’s the first Gen 5 Pokemon to get one.

What we currently know about these two mega’s is that Audino will be a Normal/Fairy type and will keep its healer ability while Slowbro will stay water/psychic and will gain the Shell Armour ability. The healer ability has a 30%  chance of healing Audino and his partners of status effects while Shell Armour means Slowbro is immune to critical hits.

As for Stat boosts according to Serebii Slowbro will get a further boost to its Special Attack and Special Defence turning him into a special tank while Audino will become a true tank as it gains a boost to its Defence and Special Defence.

Design-wise Mega Slowbro looks weird as the thing biting its tail is now used as armour by Slowbro as it somehow balances itself on its tail. Mega Audino’s design looks rather nice. It looks like how I’d imagine Audino would have been designed if it was designed to be a fairy type.
Regardless of your opinion on the designs it’s cool to see at Slowbro and Audino are getting a Mega Evolution. While leaks of Pokemon that turn out to be false are nothing new, the screenshots of Mega Slowbro and Audino look very real. Well that and these were leaked on the Official Pokemon website in Korea.

It’s still not known if you’ll be able to use these Mega Pokemon in X and Y. Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will be released on November 21st.

Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire: Fanart Shows Possible May Customization

Some fanart for Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire has fans excited for the possible customization options that will be available in the game’s rerelease.

At risk of repeating ourselves, in the just released Pokemon X and Y Game Freak introduced character customization. For the first time, you could change many attributes and characteristics for your playable character, the Pokemon Trainer. This extends beyond gender, to skin tone and hair color. Later on, you can pick up outfits and accessories to modify that look even further.

So, this fanart shows how the female default playable character from Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, May, could possibly look with the new customization options, in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Our fan has shared May matching different skin tones and hair colors, humorously referring to each of them as different foods, like Mocha, Carrot, Coconut, etc.

Actually, we imagine customization in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will be very similar to this. Junichi Masuda claimed they heard the requests from their fans around the world when they added these options, and there’s no reason to believe their future games won’t have the same. Actually, we hope they bring even more customization options for players to identify with their characters. We look forward to updating you in the future with more Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire news.

Pokémon Omega Ruby & Pokémon Alpha Sapphire announced. Watch the first trailer now!

The Pokemon Company and Nintendo have shared the first gameplay glimpse of Pokemon Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire, the upcoming "full remakes" of Pokemon Ruby / Sapphire. According to a  brief trailer (posted above), the games will feature full 3D graphics similar to Pokemon X / Y. It is unknown at this time if the games will also feature X / Y's other gameplay invention, Mega Evolutions.

Like a normal evolution, Mega Evolutions grant a pokemon extra power and change its physical appearance. However, Mega Evolutions are temporary, and only last for a single battle. The Mega Evolution forms of pokemon who can utilize them are also not counted in the franchise's expansive pokedex.

We'll update as more information becomes available.
